We felt reassured about our journey ahead and the challenges we'd face within minutes of talking to them, and since this is our first baby, we needed that reassurance and safety, and we immediately felt like we trusted them.
But we've felt so incredibly lucky to be in these classes, we've learned so much, had so many worries put to rest, had so many questions answered and it's definitely given us a lot to think about for the labour process. One of our biggest concerns is a seizure happening while I'm in labour, and how that may impact the desired method of birth I want to experience, which is a water birth. But these classes have seriously helped us get our ducks in a row and be really assertive about what it is we want, and what it is we feel like we need. . .
We have our ideal plan in place for "the worst case scenarios", I know exactly what I do and don't want in terms of inductions and pain relief. It all feels much clearer now. And it's all thanks to those classes.
We still have one class left. But if you're considering antenatal classes I absolutely 100% would recommend them. Without a shadow of a doubt.
